The World in Miniature?

Without a frame of reference, it’s hard to gauge the scale of the object photographed.  Is this a building or a table-top model of building?  That’s for me to know and the viewer to wonder about.

Glowing Window

Glass Block Window; (c) Greg McKinney

Walking down  the street, I noticed the warm lighting glowing from the inside and cool light reflected from the outside of this glass block window.  I had my Canon Powershot G12 with me so I was able to capture this image.

Yellow and Blue

Yellow and Blue Building; (c) Greg McKinney

I noticed the intense yellow and blue colors in this South of Market Building in San Francisco.  When I framed the image, I threw a sliver of blue sky and a cloud for good measure.

Here is another oldie but goodie from my collection of Kaleidoscope images.

City Reflections

City Reflections; (c) Greg McKinney

I noticed this colorful arrangement of reflections in the glass of a street car platform.  I think this image communicates the hectic energy one finds in a 21st century city.

Luckily I had a camera with me to make this image.  I try to carry my Canon G12 with me everywhere.

Garden Reverie

Garden Reverie; (c) Greg McKinney

Reverie refers to ‘a dreamy state of mind’.  It’s also the name of a solo piano piece composed by Claude Debusy in 1890.

I used a selective focus lens on my Canon EOS 40D to create the dreamlike quality of this image.
