Red, White and Green Abstract

I’ve been creating a fair number of abstract images lately.  So, what does it mean that an image is abstract?  Here are my thoughts.

Abstract images use a different set of visual constructs such as shape, color, line, frame, and texture to form a composition in such a way that it has a high degree of independence from what exists in the real world.

Here is an abstract image I created some time ago, it reminds me of a Mark Rothko painting.

In the near future, I will post a companion image that makes the connection to “what exists in the real world.”  Stay tuned.
